DaVita Makes $1 Million Investment in Broadway Federal as Part of National Effort to Invest in Minority Community; National Kidney Foundation and The Kidney Trust Provide Kidney Health Education and Risk Assessments

LOS ANGELES, Jan 07, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Tuesday, January 12, DaVita Inc. (NYSE:DVA), a leading provider of kidney care services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and Broadway Federal, a minority-owned bank that serves the diverse ethnic markets of South Central and Mid-City Los Angeles and specializes in inner-city community reinvestment, will join L.A. government and community leaders to announce DaVita's $1 million investment in Broadway Federal Bank - an effort by the kidney care provider to underscore its commitment to and investment in minority communities. The community event at the bank's Inglewood branch, co-hosted by DaVita and Broadway Federal Bank, National Kidney Foundation and The Kidney Trust, will provide area residents with free kidney health risk assessments and include a focus on senior wellness.
