Modern Healthcare conducted this program to recognize outstanding employers in the healthcare industry on a national level. Employers completed a survey detailing company policies, practices benefits and demographics. Employees were asked an in-depth set of questions that resulted in an analysis in eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.

"Like many healthcare companies, we recognize that working in hands-on healthcare is not an easy task; therefore we have made it our mission to ensure our teammates are fulfilled when they come to work," said Laura Mildenberger, DaVita's Chief People Officer. "We strive to be a community first and a company second. Our teammates appreciate this unique business approach."

"Modern Healthcare's Best Places to Work in Healthcare" program identifies and recognizes healthcare organizations that have successfully built workplace excellence and enabled employees to perform at their optimal level said Fawn Lopez, Publisher of Modern Healthcare.
