DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 3, 2012-- DaVita Inc. (NYSE: DVA), a leading provider of kidney care services that is committed to improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), today announced that its Florida dialysis clinics had generated $63,500 in charitable contributions in the state through the "DaVita Way of Giving."
As part of DaVita's larger national charitable giving efforts, teammates (employees) at each DaVita® clinic were invited to request contributions for the 501(c)(3) charity of their choice. Clinics were also allowed to team up on behalf of a single charity to request larger contributions. More than 400 charities received contributions ranging from $1,000 to over $40,000.
Florida charities received $63,500 - one of the highest totals of any state in the nation.

Florida nonprofits receiving contributions include Catholic Charities, Humane Society of Broward County, Second Harvest Food Bank, Hope Reins, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, and more.
