DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 15, 2012-- DaVita Inc. (NYSE: DVA), a leading provider of kidney care services that is committed to improving the quality of life for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), today announced that its Ohio clinics had generated $67,000 in charitable contributions in the state through the "DaVita Way of Giving."
As part of DaVita's® larger national charitable giving efforts, teammates (employees) at each DaVitaclinic were invited to request contributions for the 501(c)(3) charity of their choice. Clinics were also allowed to team up on behalf of a single charity to request larger contributions. More than 400 charities received contributions ranging from $1,000 to over $40,000.
Ohio charities received $67,000 from DaVita - the fourth highest total of any state in the nation.

Cincinnati area nonprofits receiving contributions included Freestore Foodbank and the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati.
Columbus area nonprofits who received donations included the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Furniture Bank of Central Ohio.
Cleveland area nonprofits benefitting included the Cleveland Foodbank and the Rainey Institute, which aims to positively change Cleveland's youth through visual and performing arts.
