Total Renal Care, Inc. Names John J. McDonough Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
    TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 1999--Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:TRL) today announced the appointment of John J. McDonough, 35, to the newly-created position of Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.
    Mr. McDonough will be responsible for general accounting and patient reimbursement as well as internal and external financial reporting. Mr. McDonough will report to John King, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Total Renal Care Holdings, Inc.
    Mr. McDonough joined TRL in August 1998 as Divisional Vice President of Finance and Accounting. During 1997-1998, he attended and successfully completed his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. During 1996, Mr. McDonough served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Princeton, New Jersey-based Palatin Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTN). From 1992 through 1995, Mr. McDonough held a variety of positions, including Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, at MedChem Products, Inc., a former NYSE company prior to its acquisition in 1995. Before serving at MedChem Products, Mr. McDonough was an audit manager in the Boston office of KPMG Peat Marwick.
    Mr. McDonough holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Bentley College as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
